Honda has announced that the 2013 Accord will be rated at 36 miles per gallon. The Accord’s 27-mpg city, 36-mpg highway rating (Just one mpg shy of the Civic’s 39-mpg rating. comes when the four-cylinder engine and optional CVT transmission are paired together, but the other engine and transmission choices also result in some impressive fuel economy numbers.
The 2013 Honda Accord will come with a 2.4-liter four cylinder engine that makes 185-horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Base Accords will come with a six-speed manual transmission that will get 34-mpg highway and 24-mpg city, for 28-mpg combined, according to Autoblog. A sport trim will also be available with 189-hp and 182 lb-ft of torque.
The V6 Accord will get a slight power bump to 278-hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful 2013 Accord V6 will also be more Frugal than the 2012 model with a 21-mpg city, 34-mpg highway rating.
