Snoop Dogg, who has been rapping with that name for over 20 years, has announced that he will change his name and switch Genres. Snoop Dogg returned from a trip to Jamaica and claimed that he was changed on his trip. Snoop explained his name change to MTV by saying ”The spirit called me. Any time the spirit calls you, you got to know it’s serious and real, I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion.” Snoop Lion will release a Reggae album later this year along with a documentary detailing his experiences.
So now that Snoop has been reborn as a reggae singer, which is exciting news for reggae fans because we might get to hear some on non-college radio stations, will he combine his new love with his passion for cars? The Pontiac Parisienne Lowrider Snoop has done up in Laker’s theme would be a great canvas for a rasta-style makeover. Snoop could get the top redone in green and the wheels in red like the Ethiopian flag and the Rastafari Lion of Judah flags derived from it, since the body is already yellow.
Snoop Lion has already released a single off of his upcoming reggae album, which will be called Reincarnated. MTV has a copy of the single, La La La, streaming here.
