Aston Martin has revealed the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish. The English carmaker’s new flagship will be the first to use the Vanquish name since the 2007 model year, when the Aston flagship changed to the DBS. The Aston Martin Vanquish continues Aston’s tradition of building some of the most beautiful cars on the road. The Vanquish’s gorgeous looks don’t come cheap, its starting price will be around $300,000.
The 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish will have a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 575-hp. The Vanquish will do 0 to 62-mph in 4.1 seconds, and have a top speed of 186-mph, according to The Truth About Cars. Those aren’t particularly impressive numbers when you consider that this $300,000 supercar won’t pull away from a $60,000 BMW M3.
The 300,000 Aston Martin won’t be competing with the BMW M3 though, it will have the Ferrari 599 in its sights, which starts at $320,000 and also has a 6.0-liter V12 engine. While the Aston will be down 37 horsepower to the Ferrari’s 612-hp, it will give the wealthy an option in the race-ready daily driver category, and many will probably prefer its styling, at least until Ford’s Aston-inspired cars start hitting the street.
Aston says that the Vanquish will use 75% new components, according to the description on this Youtube video:
