Heritage is important to Porsche. The company has sold the 911, which is a great car but not particularly exciting to look at, and hasn’t been for quite some time, based in large part on its heritage. Porsche owes some of the credit for the 911’s heritage, and the love the car has seen over the years despite never doing a total redesign, to the owner’s clubs that have cultivated excitement in the sports car over the years. In particular, Porsche is honoring the first two Porsche 911 owner’s clubs, which are celebrating their 60th anniversaries this year.
Porsche is paying tribute to the first two Porsche Clubs with a special 911 Club Coupe. The Porsche 911 Club Coupe will come with 20-inch Sport Techno wheels, a Sport Design front bumper and ducktail spoiler. Club Coupes will only be available in Brewster Green with the Club Coupe on the doors in glossy paint and Espresso interior.
The Porsche 911 Club Coupe will be based on a Carrera S with the Carrera S Powerkit adding 30 horsepower, to a total of 430. Porsche’s PASM suspension lowers the Club Coupe 20 mm (0.78 inches). With the Carrera S Powerkit, Porsche claims the 911 will do 0-100-kph (62-mph) in just 4.0 seconds. Only 12 Porsche 911 Club Coupes will be made available, so hopeful buyers will need to get their name in to Porsche by June 16, according to Autoblog. Those buyers will also need to have $175,580 kicking around for the 911 Club Coupe.
