Chrysler group vehicles will be eligible for a n incentive offering no payments for the first 90 days of ownership. Most Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat vehicles will be available with the three months of no payments on loan deals up to 60 months long. The deal, which started on 5/21, will run until the end of the month.
The 2012 Ram 1500 is available with no payments for 90 days.
Of course, the 90 day no payments incentive is a deferral of the loan, not an absolution from those first three payments. That means your loan starts three months after you take delivery of the vehicle and you’ll be paying until 63 months from now.
Chrysler has excluded some popular models from the no payments for 90 days incentive. The 2012 Dodge Avenger SE, Chrysler 200 LX sedan, Dodge Journey AVP, Fiat 500 Abarth, SRT models and the Dodge Viper are all excluded from the deal. The Abarth, SRTs and Viper are obvious exclusions – incentivizing your halo cars would kind of defeat the purpose. The Dodge Avenger SE, Journey AVP and Chrysler 200 are all $18,995 special price point models of their respective lines, so Chrysler is probably cutting the margin close enough on those that any specials like the 90-day no payments deal would kill most or all of the company’s profits.
Chrysler is also offering a rarely-available double incentive for military members. Any active-duty or retired member of the military can get $500 off the purchase of a new Chrysler product, and this half thousand can be combined with the no payments for 90 days incentive. With all of those troops coming back from Afghanistan, expect to see some Hemi Rams flying around military bases pretty soon.
