Porsche is planning a smaller sedan than the Panamera named the Pajun that will compete with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and BMW 5-Series. The Pajun, which will start at around $85,000, will go on sale in 2017.
Porsche is expanding its line to more thoroughly compete with premium competitors like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. The Panamera (shown above) was launched to compete with the S-Class, 7-Series and A8 and Porsche has had enough success with that and the Cayenne SUV to believe that more non-sports cars will be successful.
According to Motor Authority, the 2017 Porsche Pajun will be powered by a six-cylinder engine (here’s hoping it’s a boxer) with 320-hp, 420-hp and 520-hp options. Also a possibility in the Panamera Junior is a 313-horsepower diesel engine, which may actually see the U.S., unlike most diesels, since Porsche needs all the help it can get to meet fuel economy standards.
