Toyota has finally released pricing for the TRD T|X Baja edition of the Tacoma (yes that is a pipe, not a slash. I don’t know if the official pronunciation is Tee Pipe Ex or Tee Ex, so feel free to use whichever suits you). The offroad ready Taco had been shown off at SEMA without a price tag. Toyota’s boulder-bouncing bad boy baja bomber starts at 32,990 for a stick shift Access Cab (that’s the larger two-door model.
The Tacoma T|X Baja comes with all of the normal TRD goodies you can get on a standard Tacoma, plus a two-inch front lift, Bilstein 60mm front and 50mm rear monotube shocks, BF Goodrich T/A KO tires and a cat-back exhaust. No changes have been made to the running gear of the truck, but Tacomas have a reputation for being pretty stout in factory spec so I wouldn’t hesitate to bring the T|X Baja offroad.
The 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD T|X Baja costs $32,990 for a manual transmission Access Cab or $33,975 for an automatic Access Cab. Four-door Double Cab models will cost $34,275 with the manual transmission or $35,255 for an automatic, according to Autoblog.
