The Examiner has released a list of the best selling cars and trucks of 2011. The list is slightly skewed because it counts all of Ford’s F-Series trucks, the F-150, F-250, F-350, etc. as one vehicle. In fairness the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra families of trucks is also considered one model (and they both make the list, which is very impressive, even if they don’t beat the F-Series sales numbers when combined).
As usual, pickup trucks dominated the top of the list along with family sedans. The Ford F-Series, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and Ford Escape were the top five best selling vehicles of 2011, in order. The top of the list wasn’t a very close race, the Ford F-Series comes in first with 584,917 vehicles sold, compared to 415,130 Chevrolet Silverados. The fifth place vehicle, the Ford Escape, sold just 254,293.
Ford and Toyota continue to dominate the top ten, with the Honda Accord coming in sixth, the Ford Fusion seventh, the Ram Pickup eighth, the Toyota Corolla ninth and the Chevrolet Cruze tenth.
