Lexus and BMW are two of the big players in the luxury car game, so the entry level midsize sedans offered by each brand are pretty important products. While both Lexus and BMW sell less expensive cars than the 2012 IS250 and the 2012 328i , the least expensive mid-sized cars are the real babies of the lineups.
The 2012 Lexus IS250 starts at 33,595 and comes with a 2.5-liter V6 engine with 204-hp and 185 lb-ft of torque rated at 19-mpg city and 28-mpg highway. The 2012 BMW 328i starts at 34,600 can is powered by a 3.0-liter Inline-six engine with 230-hp and 200 lb-ft of torque that gets 18-mpg city and 28-mpg highway. Both cars are rear-wheel drive.
Both the BMW and Lexus have basically every possible comfort and convenience feature available. Both come standard with climate control, Bluetooth connectivity and leather seats with technology like navigation and parking assistance optional.
The 2012 BMW 328i has 38.5 inches of front head room and 41.5 inches of front leg room. The 2012 Lexus IS250 comes has 37.2 inches of head room and 43.9 inches of leg room in the front. The 2012 328i has 37.5 inches of head room in the rear and 34.6 inches of rear leg room. The 2012 IS250 has 36.7 inches of rear head room and 30.6 inches of rear leg room. The Lexus has 1 cubic foot more cargo room than the Beemer with 13.0 cubic feet of trunk space to the BMW’s 12.
