The Fiat 500 has captivated Americans with its ultra-compact size and heavy dose of style, two things that don’t normally go together. Now, Fiat is going to try to captivate a different sort of American by releasing the Fiat 500 Abarth in the U.S. The 500 Abarth is a high performance version of the stylish Cinquecento with a 170-hp engine.
The Fiat 500 Abarth is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 170-hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, 59 horsepower more than the standard 500. To keep that extra power on the road, the Fiat 500 Abarth will come with an upgraded sport suspension, performance wheels and tires and more powerful brakes. Of course the performance version of the car that has shown that even an inexpensive, tiny car can have some style won’t leave buyers with nothing to show for their extra money, the Fiat 500 Abarth will be available in either white or black with red stripes, red mirrors, a unique front bumper and a rooftop spoiler.
Fiat has also created this Italian-language commercial for the new Abarth.
Translation, according to Youtube user stefanodefful:
What are you looking at? Uh!?
What are you looking at?! (slap)
Are you undressing me with your eyes?
Poor guy…you can’t help it?
Is your heart beating? Is your head spinning?
