Ford will redesign the Ford Flex for the 2013 model year. The stylish wagon will lose the corporate four-bar grill in favor of a unique, more attractive one. Also gone will be the Ford Blue Oval in favor of just the Flex name embossed on the grill. The 2013 Ford Flex’s new grill should endear it even more with lovers of the retro styling, while possibly converting a few more fans. Ford will reveal the 2013 Flex officially at the LA Auto Show.
The 2013 Ford Flex will also have an upgraded version of the base 3.5-liter V6 engine that will make 20 more horsepower – 285, and will get one more mile per gallon on the highway – 25. City mileage will stay the same at 18-mpg. The available Ecoboost engine will remain unchanged for the 2013 model year with 355-hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.
Inside, the 2013 Ford Flex will get a refresh as well, with several technological and convenience features added. The 2013 Flex will have a new SYNC system with MyFord Touch, which has been redesigned to make it the easiest to use SYNC system yet. The new 2012 Ford Flex will also have a inflatable rear seatbelts, which will improve comfort and safety for rear seat passengers. An adaptive cruise control system and blind spot warning system will help drivers avoid accidents. Heated and cooled front seats, along with an optional second row refridgerated console will make travelling long distances in the Flex a fun proposition.
