According to the Consumer Reports magazine, the new Chrysler 300C is a car that really stands out from the pack. After a quick rise through the ranks for the 2011 model year, Consumer Reports is calling this car “the best Chrysler sedan…in decades” and rating it “excellent” in reviews.
One big plus for this new Chrysler 300 trim is a brawny 5.7 liter V8 engine that, according to Consumer Reports, has gotten a lot of good complementary engineering that results in responsive handling and a smooth ride in a cabin that’s been favored with upgraded materials and a better layout. CR also describes the drive as “very quiet,” something that a lot of auto makers are trying to attain with specialized glass and other strategies. Apart from the Chrysler 300C’s abilities to filter out road noise, CR also cites improved fuel economy, but also very competent acceleration and great shifting.
As if that weren’t enough, the newest version of the Chrysler 300 is due to hit American lots very soon. A list of features from Edmunds, part of an unfinished report to come later in the year, shows that this model will include all-wheel-drive and some very modern conveniences. A navigation system and Bluetooth will be complemented by satellite radio with iPod input. Safety features like stability and traction control will also add to this model. The 2012 version is due to retain the same engine block. One disclaimer here is that recent fuel economy estimates don’t show extremely high mpg, even for the 2012, with up to 25 miles per gallon on highway at about 16 miles per gallon in city.
The Chrysler 300 might not be the gas saver’s first pick, but it does promise to be among the quality cars offering a luxurious ride that many buyers will be looking for as the new model year commences. Look for the best offers from Chrysler if you are hunting for one of these high powered personal cars. Don’t neglect research on the best incentives and financing offers for one of these somewhat pricy rides.
