For drivers who have never seen a modern upsized gearshift, future versions of the Chevrolet Corvette are promising to provide a real revelation in auto design. The most recent news for this classic specialty vehicle is that the 2014 version of Chevy’s Corvette C7 will come with a seven speed manual transmission, which will be quite an attractive option for fans of the power-shifting, old-school way of driving. Other auto manufacturers are expected to follow suit, or even scoop the American manufacturer in getting the advanced transmission style out there. For example, according to reports from Inside Line this week, German auto maker Porsche is supposed to offer a seven speed manual in some of its 2012 lineup.
As for the Corvette, a massively popular auto model from General Motors, reports indicate a new version of the Corvette C7 out in late 2012 should be powered by a V8 engine offering above 400 horsepower. Analysts are also hoping for an upgrade to the car’s interior, but suggesting Chevy might not be putting a lot into improving handling for this car, which operates on its own unique center of gravity.
With a hefty price tag around $50,000, the Chevrolet Corvette is not an economy car. Rather, this special set of wheels blends extreme power with a time-tested attractive style. Fans of its streamlined low cabin design, and flared sides and back end, find that this vehicle’s ability to turn heads makes up for the thousands of extra dollars that one of these cars costs. But even with a specialty car purchase, it’s not necessary to pay more than you have to. For those avid car hunters who are going after a late-model version of the Corvette, there’s a lot to be gained from assessing current factory direct deals, shopping around to various lenders, and figuring out how to get the lowest financing rates and least fees, and a final transaction price and financing deal that won’t break the bank. Look for more on this innovative ride as the new model of Corvette C7 comes on the market next year.
