Cadillac has announced the pricing for the 2012 SRX. The 2012 Cadillac SRX, which will be powered by a 308-hp V6 engine, will start at $36,060 and will go on sale in August.
Cadillac’s 3.6-liter V6, which is currently available in the 2011 Cadillac CTS and and STS, will power the 2012 SRX. The 3.6-liter V6 will make 308 horsepower, the most in its class, and will have an ECO mode that the driver can select for better fuel economy. With ECO mode selected, the shift points on the six-speed automatic transmission are changed for better efficiency.
The 2012 SRX’s base price includes standard Bluetooth connectivity, an optional heated steering wheel and available 20-inch wheels.
The new SRX will have a few interesting features to keep the SUV under control in inclement weather. An advanced all-wheel drive system that adjusts the power going to each wheel in order to keep the vehicle stable combines with an adaptive damping system to keep the 2012 SRX under control in icy or wet circumstances. TheĀ brakes on the 2012 SRX are connected to the automatic rain sensing windshield wipers and will periodically brake slightly to dry off the rotors, ensuring safe stopping power.
The SRX is Cadillac’s most popular vehicle and is the second best selling luxury crossover on the market. Cadillac says that 71 percent of all SRX buyers are new to the brand, and the upgraded engine with better fuel economy should help convince even more buyers to switch.
