Lots of auto market watchers are talking about the “all-new” 2012 Ford Focus as the compact gets a redesign for next year’s model. Ford is packing more style and more features into this lithe ride, hoping to give the Chevrolet Cruze and other competing models a run for their money.
One of the things that many buyers will like about the 2012 Ford Focus is that it hits a fuel economy target of 40 mpg, making it a good play for those worried about a resurgence of high gas prices. The design of this car lets the transmission work with the fuel injection system in ways that conserve more gasoline and help drivers get further for less. While auto makers are working furiously on hybrids and other new technology vehicles that can get in excess of 40 mpg, the 2012 Focus is competitive with what’s now on the market and a whole lot of American drivers will be happy with 40 mpg for years to come, even if gas goes back above that $4/gallon mark.
Other style features of the 2012 model are a louvered grille and body adjustments that will make this car stand out in the lot. The 2012 Ford Focus will run on a 2.0 liter 4-c engine throwing 160 horsepower, enough to get the smaller frame where it needs to go. On the safety front, the 2012 Focus includes a wide variety of airbags, including front and side curtain airbags, for protecting drivers and passengers. Buyers of top trims can get ABS and electronic stability control and more. Tech features available for this car include voice-activated SYNC and navigation, and Sirius radio, as well as driving features like rain sensing wipers.
Another attractive feature to buyers will be the starting MSRP of just over $17,000 for the base S trim. Ford currently offers 6.9% financing for 39 months with several thousand dollars down. The Top 2012 Ford Focus Titanium 5-door model sells for about $23,500. Keep looking for the newest pricing and financing offers on this car as the market gets closer to the start of the 2012 model year.
