Chevrolet has announced that it will begin taking orders for the 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformers edition in July. The Transformers Camaro, which looks like the character Bumblebee from the movie series, will cost an extra $3,000 over the price of a 2012 Camaro 2LT or 2SS. Luckily for buyers, the Bumblebee Camaro actually looks good, so it will appeal to normal Camaro buyers, not just Transformers fanatics.

The 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformers package will add 20-inch black wheels with Autobot symbol center caps, high performance summer tires, a unique rear spoiler, black racing stripes and Autobot symbols on the front corner panels to the outside. A black body kit and 21-inch wheel upgrade are the only optional extras. Because the Transformers edition is designed to look just like Bumblebee, the package is only available on yellow Camaros. The interior of the 2012 Bumblebee Camaro feature Autobot logos embroidered on the front head rests and the center console and yellow stitching throughout the black leather interior.
The 2012 Camaro Transformers edition can be ordered starting in July, but cars will not be available at dealerships until September. Chevrolet probably isn’t worried about the novelty of the Bumblebee Camaro wearing off before then, the fifth generation Camaro has been available since 2010 and we first saw Bumblebee in 2007.
