Chevrolet has officially unveiled the 2013 Chevy Malibu. Chevrolet’s redesigned midsize sedan was revealed last night on Facebook and Youtube.
As expected, the rear of the new 2013 Chevy Malibu looks a lot like the Camaro’s back end. The Malibu’s square tail lights might even trick some people behind you in traffic into thinking you’re driving a Camaro.
Chevrolet hasn’t officially announced the 2013 Malibu’s engine choices, but has made it known that the 2012 Chevy Malibu will be powered by a fuel efficient four-cylinder engine, at least in some trims. Expect a more powerful V6 to also be available, probably enough to compete with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, both of which have around 270-HP in V6 form.
The new 2013 Chevy Malibu’s interior is particularly appealing. No word yet on how much the configuration shown in these pictures, with a storage unit located behind the entertainment system, will be. Hopefully the good looking brown leather shown in these pictures with contrasting stitching makes it into the production Malibu.
The newly redesigned Chevy Malibu will go on sale in January of 2012, four months ahead of the originally planned date. Sales have slumped in 2011 for the current generation Malibu, which was one of GM’s best selling cars, which may have prompted the decision to move production up.
