The 2012 Audi A6 has been officially revealed. Audi’s newly redesigned midsize luxury car will go on sale early next year. Audi has announced that diesel and hybrid versions of the new A6 will be made.
Audi’s 2012 A6 has been redesigned to match the styling of the 2011 Audi A8 flagship large car. In addition to the exterior changes, the 2012 Audi A6 will get a new interior with a wrap-around dashboard, attractive wood paneling and seats that are heated, cooled and able to massage you while you drive.
Audi has announced three different diesel engines for the 2012 Audi A6, but has not said if any of them will be available in the United States. The highlight of Audi’s diesel engine choices is a 2.0-liter turbo diesel that Audi is claiming will get 48 miles to the gallon. Audi will also continue to offer the 3.0-liter TFSI engine that is available in the current A6 with 300-hp and 27-mpg, according to Autoblog.
The new A6 will also be available with a hybrid drivetrain. The 2012 Audi A6 hybrid will be Audi’s second hybrid model after the Q5, and will be powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine coupled to an electric motor and an eight-speed transmission. Audi says that the A6 hybrid will be able to travel using electric power at up to 62-mph.
