Nissan has announced that 605,000 cars and trucks made from 2001 to 2010 will be recalled due to a steering problem and a battery defect. GM also announced that 13,780 Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS models will be recalled because of a fluid leak that could cause a fire. Chrysler will be recalling 16,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs for a defective windshield wiper system.
The Nissan Frontier and Xterra are being recalled for a faulty steering column that can become corroded and could limit the lower ball joint’s movement and crack the steering shaft. The Nissan recall will affect 303,000 Frontiers and 283,000 Xterras.
The Nissan Sentra is also being recalled for an issue with the positive battery cable. The Sentra’s battery cable defect can cause issues when starting the car or stalling at low speeds, according to Autoweek.
The Nissan recalls affect cars made from 2001 to 2010. Nissan will contact owners of affected vehicles in December, but if you bought your Nissan used, you may not receive notification, so you should check with a dealership to see if your vehicle is affected.
General Motors has announced that the 2010 and 2011 Cadillac DTS (shown here) and Buick Lucerne will be recalled for an issue where the starter or alternator cable can contact the steering fluid line and cause it to wear through. If the line wears and fluid leaks, it could cause a fire.
The 2008 Jeep Liberty is being recalled to repair a defect that causes the windshield wiper motor to stop working. Water can get into the wiper motor and cause it to fail.
It’s a great news. It’s looking very nice, but little bit problem with a steering and battery. Thanks for this!
