Chrysler has announced that it will significantly redesign or replace every car in the company’s lineup for 2011. The flagship Chrysler 300 and the Town & Country minivan will be completely redesigned, while the 2011 Chrysler 200 will replace the Sebring. The PT Cruiser will be discontinued after the 2010 model year.
The new 2011 Chrysler 200, shown here alongside the redesigned Town & Country, is very similar to the Sebring that it replaces. Buyers who liked the Sebring’s blend of luxury and economy will almost definitely like the Chrysler 200. The 2011 Chrysler 200 will be available with the choice between a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is currently available on the Sebring, and Chrysler’s new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. The Chrysler Pentastar V6 will make 283-hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
The 2011 Chrysler Town & Country will be completely overhauled, resulting in a more comfortable, more luxurious minivan. The 2011 Town & Country will be the first vehicle to wear the company’s new logo (shown above). Chrysler says that the Town & Country will have a completely upgraded interior and that nearly every point that the customer touches has been redesigned.
The Chrysler 300, which debuted in 2005, is also being redesigned for this year. The Chrysler 300’s retro styling has made it very popular, so Chrysler will have to balance the need to update the aging sedan’s look without ruining the retro appeal.
