Dodge has completely redesigned the new 2011 Dodge Avenger, giving the mid-size car a sporty overhaul and adding horsepower. The Avenger will get a reworked suspension and an updated exterior, but the most important update to the new 2011 Avenger will be Chrysler’s Pentastar V6 engine with 283-horsepower.
The 2011 Dodge Avenger will have a retuned suspension for better handling and a more aggressive driving feel. The new Avenger has a wider tire track and wider tires than last year’s model. The 2011 Avenger is also 12 millimeters lower in the front and 6 mm lower in the rear than last year’s model. Dodge says that all of these changes will make drivers much more confident in the car’s improved handling.
The 2011 Avenger comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, but the more exciting option is the Pentastar V6 with 283-horsepower and 260-lb-ft of torque, which is 20% more power than the V6 available on the 2010 model. Dodge says that the new V6 engine will get gas mileage comparable to the 2010’s.
The most obvious changes to the 2011 Dodge Avenger are the visual ones. The Avenger’s new grill uses the new signature split crosshair look and a more aggressive lower fascia, which gives the 2011 Avenger a much sportier look.
