Hyundai has announced that the company’s new flagship large luxury car will have a starting price of $58,000 when it goes on sale later this year. The top-of-the-line 2011 Hyundai Equus Ultimate will cost $64,500. All 2011 Hyundai Equus models will come with an Apple iPad in place of the usual owner’s manual.
The 2011 Hyundai Equus will feature Hyundai’s new “At Your Service” plan, which gives owners free maintenance, valet service and loaner cars for five years or 60,000 miles. The At Your Service free maintenance program includes wear-and-tear items like wiper blades, brake pads and batteries. Hyundai will also provide owners with a valet service and a free loaner Genesis or Equus during any warranty, maintenance or service the Equus requires.
The 2011 Hyundai Equus, which is designed to be a much less expensive alternative to large premium luxury cars like the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, will be Hyundai’s second foray into the luxury business. Hyundai’s first luxury car was the Genesis, which starts at $33,000 and is designed to compete with the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The 2011 Hyundai Equus will be available at Hyundai dealers in December, but Hyundai is also offering at-home demonstrations of the Equus to potential buyers.
