The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor has been a huge success. Sales have exceeded Ford’s expectations and the Raptor’s off-road performance is untouched by any other production truck. For the 2011 model year, Ford is making the Raptor even better by adding the option of a SuperCrew four-door body style and making the larger 411-hp 6.2-liter engine standard on all Raptors. Silver paint is another addition to the 2011 F-150 Raptor.
Ford announced in April that a SuperCrew Raptor would be built so that buyers can share the thrills of high-speed off-roading with friends. Dealers are now taking orders for the 2011 four-door Raptor, which will be delivered later this year.
“When we launched the F-150 SVT Raptor, consumers were blown away with the capability of the vehicle,” Jost Capito, director of global performance vehicles and motorsports business development, said. “By adding the SuperCrew, we have expanded the versatility of Raptor, and now even more enthusiasts will be able to experience the no-compromise off-road performance that only Raptor delivers.”
The 2011 F-150 SVT Raptor will also include a new computer system that informs the driver of important information while off-roading. The computer will let the driver know the truck’s steering wheel angle and the vehicle’s angle when on a grade, as well as information on what the truck’s various off-road traction and stability systems are doing.
