Dodge has released teaser pictures of the new 2011 Dodge Durango. The new Durango will be a crossover style SUV, with road manners and handling more similar to that of a car than the older truck-based Durango. The 2011 Durango crossover will fill the voids left by both the Durango and the Magnum wagon, and will sit somewhere between the two in terms of ride height and looks.
The teaser shots, which show the 2011 Durango’s front grill and rear hatch, look very similar to the picture that was leaked to Twitter in July of the new Durango. The grill looks almost identical to the one found on the Dodge Charger, so if you’re a fan of that look but are in the market for an SUV, you’re in luck.
The leaked shot is the only one available of the full vehicle. Dodge’s teaser pictures and the slide show on the website for the 2011 Durango are zoomed in to only show details of the SUV’s styling.
The Durango looks similar to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee in size, and should match the Grand Cherokee in interior luxury. The focus on making the new Durango a crossover will probably make it more street-oriented than the off-road capable Grand Cherokee, so the two will most likely not compete too much for buyers.
