The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is an all-new generation of the iconic off-roader. The Grand Cherokee was introduced in 1993 as a luxury version of the utilitarian Jeep Cherokee to win buyers over who might have been considering the popular Ford Explorer. Since then, the regular Cherokee has been discontinued and the more comfortable Grand Cherokee has thrived. Like the Grand Cherokees of yore, the 2011 model focuses on luxury more than straight off-road prowess.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was just awarded July’s “Car of the Month” by NADAguides.com, which provides vehicle pricing and other information to dealers and consumers (if you’re ever in a dealership and someone pulls out a little yellow book, it’s a NADA guide).
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s luxurious interior, coupled with its off-road capabilities made it an easy pick for Car of the Month for July. If you need to take a date to a secluded beach, there aren’t many SUVs that are better suited for the task than the Grand Cherokee, especially in its price range. The Grand Cherokee starts at $30,125.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available with the choice between a base V6 engine and a Hemi V8. Buyers who decide to stick with the V6 won’t be disappointed. The Grand Cherokee’s V6 engine makes 280-hp and gets 22-mpg on the highway.
