The 2011 Honda Accord will get a styling refresh and better fuel economy. It’s common for a car to be freshened up, rather than completely redesigned, during the course of its life cycle in order to keep up-to-date with the latest fashions and performance expectations. In that vein, the 2011 Honda Accord will get an updated look and a boost in gas mileage, although only one particular engine and transmission combination gets the extra mpg’s.
Honda Accord 2011 models equipped with the four-cylinder engine and automatic transmission will get a little bit better gas mileage than the 2010 models with the same setup. The 2011 Accord will be rated at 23-mpg city and 34-mpg highway. The 2010 model is rated at 21-mpg city and 31-mpg highway. Honda says that improving aerodynamics, reworking the transmission’s gear ratios and reducing engine friction all combined to give the 2011 Accord better gas mileage.
The 2011 Honda Accord will also get some subtle styling changes. All models will get a new front grill and bumper, and Accord sedans will get a new rear deck lid and different tail lights. There will also be new wheels available for the 2011 Accord, according to Left Lane News.
The visual changes to the 2011 Honda Accord won’t be anything substantial enough to be worth waiting for, so if you intended on buying a V6 model or a four-cylinder with the manual transmission, you have no reason to delay. If you’re shopping for an Accord with the four-cylinder engine with an automatic, you’ll have to decide if the extra 2-mpg is worth waiting a few months for.
