The 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe will cost $38,990 when it goes on sale in August. The new two-door CTS will join the CTS Sedan and Wagon and give Cadillac‘s small luxury car the same variety that is found at BMW or Mercedes.
The 2010 Cadillc CTS Sedan and Wagon start at $35,165 and $38,265, respectively. The CTS Coupe’s $3,000 premium over the Sedan means that it’s intended as a sporty, stylish version of the CTS, rather than a budget-minded base model, as coupes sometimes are. The CTS Coupe has touch pads on the doors rather than traditional handles. That gives the car a cleaner look, but begs the question: what if the battery dies?
The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe will cost $62,990. The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe will have 556-horsepower from its Corvette-derived V8 engine. The high performance version of Cadillac’s CTS Coupe will also have Brembo brakes and Magnetic Ride Control. The CTS-V Coupe will use paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel, rather than a traditional manual gearbox. That means that drivers can keep both hands on the wheel during hard cornering.
Standard CTS Coupes will use Cadillac’s 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 304-horsepower. The CTS Coupe will be available with either rear or all-wheel drive. Buyers can choose between a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.
