Nissan has announced a recall on 48,700 trucks and SUVs from the 2010 model year for a suspension problem that could cause the vehicles to ride rougher than they should. The recall includes 2010 Nissan Titan, Frontier, Armada and Xterra models, as well as the 2010 Infiniti QX56.
Nissan says that the recall is for a lower suspension control link, which wasn’t welded correctly during construction and can cause a bushing collar to crack. If that happens, drivers will notice a rough ride and noise from the broken bushing collar. No accidents have been reported due to this problem, but any suspension issue could potentially cause handling problems, so if your new Nissan is affected by the recall, make sure you have it repaired.
Not all 2010 Nissan trucks and SUVs are included in the suspension recall, so if you have a new 2010 Nissan Titan, Armada, Frontier or Xterra or a 2010 Infiniti QX56, contact your local dealer to see if your vehicle is being recalled. The NHTSA expects the Nissan truck and SUV recall to begin this week, according to the Associated Press.
All of the Nissan and Infiniti trucks and SUVs included in the recall are built in the United States. The Nissan Armada and Titan and the Infiniti QX56 are built in Canton, Miss. The Nissan Xterra, Pathfinder and Frontier are all assembled in Smyrna, Tenn.
