Ford will reveal an F-150 SVT Raptor SuperCrew soon, according to Inside Line. The SuperCrew is Ford’s four-door body style for the F-150, which means that you’ll be able to take four friends along comfortably when you go dune-jumping in the SVT Raptor. Ford has been surprised by the popularity of the F-150 Raptor, so an additional body style that lends itself more to socializing isn’t surprising.
All Ford F-150 Raptor trucks sold up to this point have been SuperCab models, which have an extended cab and small suicide rear doors. Ford recently added an optional 6.2-liter V8 engine with 411-horsepower.
Ford’s addition of a heavier four-door body style to the SVT Raptor looks like an admission by the company that people aren’t just buying the truck for its performance. A four-door model is a lot more convenient for use as a daily driver, and that’s probably what most F-150 Raptors will be used as. In fact, the only SVT Raptor I’ve ever seen in person was parked on Boylston St. in Boston, and while the roads could be better in Bean Town, it’s hardly the Baja 1000.
