GM announced pricing today for the 2011 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD twins. The Sierra and Silverado 2500 2wd models will start at $27,965, and total $28,960 with a destination charge. Luxury GMC Sierra 2500 Denali models will start at $45,865, plus a destination fee.
The GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado 2500 will be available with an upgraded Duramax diesel engine that has best-in-class horsepower and torque. The new Duramax diesel engine will make 397-hp and 765-lb-ft of torque. Coupled with an Allison transmission, diesel-powered Sierra and Silverado 2500 models will be capable of hauling 6,335 lbs and towing 20,000 lbs. Upgrading to the Duramax diesel will cost $8,395, which is the same price as this year.
Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD models all come with a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. The 2011 models will arrive at dealerships this summer.
