Andrew Bynum, 22-year-old center for the Los Angeles Lakers, is featured in this month’s Super Street magazine, according to Jalopnik. More accurately, his 2009 Nissan GT-R, with $20,000 in body modifications, is featured. The GT-R is a welcome change from the Escalades, Lamborghinis and S-Classes that we typically associate with athletes.
Andrew Bynum’s GT-R is clad in a $20,000 Wald Sports Line Black Bison body kit, along with 21-inch black Radernergie Motorsports wheels. The combination is gorgeous, and the carbon fiber front grill manages to add a racy look to the GT-R without looking silly, as many carbon fiber accents tend to.
Bynum’s GT-R isn’t just for show. The engine and computer have been tuned to give the car 580-horsepower. Bynum’s Nissan also features a high-end coil over suspension, so the GT-R’s legendary handling hasn’t been ruined by the giant wheels.
