Bringing your dog in the car can be a stressful situation. Dogs love the car, but that means they get incredibly excited in one, and man’s best friend has no idea that you’re doing something important, so he thinks it’s OK to try to climb onto your lap or onto the dashboard for a better view. So you need a way to keep Fido from causing trouble in the cockpit, but also keep him comfortable for the trip.
Honda has released a package for the Element that will not only keep your dog in the back of the SUV, but is also designed for his comfort and safety. The Honda Element dog package includes a nylon kennel to keep your dog in the trunk and secure in the event of a crash, a padded doggy bed, a fan powered by the Element’s rear outlet, rubber floor mats, a spill resistant bowl and a ramp in case your dog can’t manage the vertical leap necessary to enter the Element. The Package also includes a dog themed cover for the rear seats and exterior emblems.
The fan included in the package will only work on Honda Element EX models, or on LX models after a dealer has installed a rear power outlet. The package will retail for $995.
The only downside of the dog friendly package is that your dog won’t be able to stick his head out the window, and denying your best friend something they enjoy that much seems down right cruel.
