With cash for clunkers over, carmakers are hoping to continue the high sales they saw last month by offering some great incentives on their new cars and trucks. We’re going to break down the best incentives being offered in the month of September by American car companies.
If you’re looking for a new car this month, check out what Chrysler has to offer. The automaker is still offering clunker-level discounts. The Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger are both available with either $4,500 off of MSRP or $1,000 off and 0% auto loan financing for up to 72 months. The Ram 1500 Crew Cab can be had for $6,000 off the base price, or $1,500 off with 0% car loan financing for 60 months.
GM is also offering some pretty good deals this month. The Corvette convertible is being offered for $4,000 off. Chevrolet Silverado shoppers interested in an extended cab model can chose between $3,500 off or 0% auto loan financing for up to 60 months. If you’re looking for a 4-door sedan, you’d be absolutely silly not to check out the Buick Lucerne, which is available for $4,000 off MSRP, which puts the price below the $20,000 mark.
At less than $20k, the Buick Lucerne is one of the best deals out there.
Ford is having a better year than the other two American car companies, and it shows, looking at the September incentives. Where GM and Chrysler’s offerings are starting to look like Hail Mary attempts to sell anything possible, Ford is offering more conservative incentives on its cars and trucks. The F150 is available with $1500 off and 0% car loan financing for up to 36 months. Where Ford wins this month is in the selection of cars available with good incentives. The 2010 Mustang can be bought for $1,000 off and a 0% interest rate for a 36-month auto loan, while the Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro are selling for full price. For those of us with families, the Ford Flex station wagon is available with incentives identical to the Mustang’s, $1,000 off and a 0% auto loan interest rate.
Buyers looking for half-ton pickup trucks are the clear winners this month. The Big Three are all offering great deals on new trucks in the month of September. For $6,000 off, Dodge might convince some of the casual-use truck buyers to come back into the showrooms and check out the new Ram.
