GM has issued a press release stating that the Pontiac Vibe will no longer be manufactured after August 2009. The Vibe is built alongside the Toyota Matrix at a plant operated by both GM and Toyota in California called the New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated facility, or NUMMI.
The Pontiac Vibe was set to be the only Pontiac Vehicle sold to consumers in the 2010 model year. GM has not said if this decision will affect that plan.
Gm says that it is actively discussing future production at NUMMI with Toyota. This means that there is a chance that the Pontiac Vibe could be sold under another GM brand.
