On May 17, Ferrari will auction off the last F430 that will ever be built to benefit victims of the recent earthquake in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The car will be painted silver and orange, the colors of Aquila, the city most affected by the earthquake. All proceeds from this weekend’s auction will go towards helping rebuild the Abruzzo region.
Ferrari’s Chairman Luca di Montezemolo will include a signed certificate and personalized plate to the winner of the Abruzzo F430. This will almost certainly make the Abruzzo F430 a collector’s item, expect it to sell for quite a bit when it inevitably goes up for auction in the next few years. If I were a billionaire, I’d skip the stock market altogether and invest in this gorgeous machine.
The winning bidder will also be able to customize the car with options from the Carrozzeria Scaglietti catalogue, according to Motorauthority.
The F430 up for auction won’t be built until the end of the year, so the high bidder won’t be doing any burnouts in the parking lot this weekend.
According to Motorauthority, the F430 will most likely be replaced with an F450, which will also be V8 powered and will have north of 550 horsepower.
