Maserati, now there’s a brand with prestige. When you utter the name Maserati, you’re recalling a glorious past with many famous drivers going on to claim countless victories on the world’s race circuits. To drive a Maserati, was to drive a legend.
When then company was restructured in the turn of the century, the Quattroporte was one of it’s greatest successes. A four door luxury sedan, with the 4.7-liter V8 powerplant from a Ferrari 360 Modena, the Quattroporte won over the heart of anyone that drove it.
Now the company is giving driving enthusiast even more to clamor about. The new Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S that will debut at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show should satisfy any enthusiasts hunger for speed. That glorious Ferrari V8 is now producing 433hp thanks to some fine tuning. Suspension is also quite a bit stiffer all around, courtesy of retuned dampers and spring rates.
Looks-wise, this new Maser’ is something sinister to behold. Blacked-out treatment all around and titanium colored headlight surrounds all scream bad-ass. On the inside specifically designed perforated sport seats are wrapped in Alcantara trim and leather.
All together the effect is noticeable. The Sport GT S isĀ much sportier than the regular Quattroporte while still providing the convenience of a stylish luxury four door saloon car. With a asking price of $138, 40 the new Sport GT S isn’t cheap, but it is $1,000 less than the Gran Turismo S coupe. Plus, with the Quattroporte Sport S, you can share the glorious Maserati experience with three other friends!
