BMW of North America recently announced the official pricing on their highly anticipated new diesel vehicles. Both the 335d and the X5 xDrive35d that will be coming to North America will be powered by BMW’s new advanced diesel engines equipped with BluePerformance. The 3.0-liter turbo-diesels use a advanced urea-injection system to clean emmisions to a 50-state legal standard.
The BMW 335d will start at an MSRP of $44,725 including destination and handling. Meanwhile, the X5 xDrive35d SAV will have an MSRP of $52,025, also including destination and handling. Both vehicles will only come in one trim with few options and most will probably come fully loaded. BMW’s new Advanced Diesel with BluePerformance is an important part of BMW’s EfficientDynamics initiative in the US.
“This is an important launch for BMW,” said Jim O’Donnell, President of BMW of North America, LLC. “Both of these vehicles have outstanding fuel efficiency while offering performance that delivers on the promise of the Ultimate Driving Machine. With up to nearly 600 miles of range, these BMW Advanced Diesels will be perfect for the way Americans drive.”
Indeed, one can really save some dough by switching to an efficient modern diesel engine. But the best part is you can really save some dough come tax season. That’s because both of these vehicles will be eligible for the IRS Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit. The 335d is eligible for up to $900 in tax savings, while the X5 xDrive35d will be good for a maximum tax credit of $1,550. Either way you look at it, these new diesels from BMW will be a good way to save some dough while still driving an “ultimate driving machine.”
