Nissan is the latest manufacture to jump on the 0% financing offer bandwagon. Japan’s third-largest automaker. Nissan Motor Co. announced that its net income plunged 38.8% during its second fiscal quarter forcing the company to cut it’s full-year profit outlook in half.
On the eve of this announcement, Nissan announced it is offering 0% financing on three-year loans for five of its most popular 2008 and 2009 models. These include the Murano, and Rogue SUV’s along with their Altima, Sentra, and Versa cars, the latter of which has recently claimed the title of cheapest new car in America.
“I think what’s happening out there, is that there is the perception is that you can’t get financing to buy a car right now,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager of Nissan North America’s Nissan division. “So we are trying to make a bold statement to our consumers and to our dealers that he we are here for you.”
Ah, how sweet of you Nissan….
