Nissan’s Murano has been an undeniable sales hit. By combining SUV visability and hauling capacity, with a car like ride and driving experience, the Murano really opitimized the crossover segment. Now Nissan is extending this magic formula to the smaller class.
Introducing the Rogue. Basically a Murano-mini, the Rogue nontheless fills that void in the market for Nissan to compete with the likes of Toyota’s Rav4 and Honda’s CR-V. The Murano was too big, too heavy, and too expensive to properly compete in that class segment, so Nissan gave us the Rogue.
Powered the the the company’s corporate 2.5-liter 16-valve DOHC inline-4 making 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, sent through Nissan’s continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Rogue gets impressive gas mileage. You can expect a respectable EPA-rated fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
