General Motors has recently announced last Wednesday that they are extending their employee-discount-pricing program to last through the end of September. All this in a bid to get even more cars of it’s lots.
The program has also been expanded to include many 2009 model-year vehicles, including all Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, the automaker said in a statement. Sorry Corvette buyers, it still doesn’t count for you though.
GM’s 2009 model-year vehicles eligible for employee pricing include the Chevrolet Avalanche, Cobalt, Equinox, HHR, Impala, Malibu and Silverado. Other ’09 models included in the discount program are the Buick Enclave and the Pontiac G5, G6, G8 Solstice, Torrent and Vibe. The 2009 GMC Acadia and all 2009 models of the GMC Sierra are included. Eligible 2009 Saturn vehicles are the Aura, Outlook and Sky, while ’09 Cadillac vehicles include the CTS, DTS, SRX and STS. 2009 Hummer vehicles in the program include the H2 and H3. “Hybrid models of listed vehicles are included in the sale,” said General Motors.
Whether or not it will work remains to be seen. With the way the economy is going it’s only natural that GM is struggling to move units, but this is their last bid. Hopefully, for GM’s sake, it works.
