People will buy anything these days. Take the Kahn Cosworth Sport 300 for example. This “tuned” version of Land Rover’s Range Rover Sport boast all the add-ons that someone with more money than taste could want.
First off, let’s start out with that hidious tuner-boy body kit. The front bumpers, side skirts, and fender flares all look like something a pre-pubescent boy sketched up on a napkin. Useless (and function-less) scoops are all over the place and so are the mandatory big 22” rims.
Were respected tuner Cosworth steps in is buy upping the ante on the Range Rover Sports supercharged V8 from 268hp to 300hp. This all according to the tuner, of course. What struck me as odd is that I remebered the Range Rover Sport as already having 300hp stock. Was I mistaken? A quick tour of Land Rover’s website said it all. Not only does the stock naturally aspirated V8 already make 300hp, but the supercharged factory version puts out 390 ponies! In fact Kahn’s Range Rover accelerates to 60 mph in around than 8.0 seconds (yawn…) and tops out at 135 mph (double yawn…).
The reason for the article’s title though is this little number: 150,000. Thats the price, in dollars, that Kahn is charging for their “Tuned” Range Rover Sport. That’s literally double what Land Rover charges for their 90 hp stronger supercharged Range Rover Sport!
Kahn will only make 300 of these waste-of-money Range Rovers. Good, cause I don’t think there are that many dumb and rich people out there…
