Member’s from Ford’s engineering team recently were spotted testing a prototype of a version of the F-150 pickup truck rumored to have not existed. Code named the “Raptor”, this version of the popular Ford truck will be built with off-road enthusiasts in mind first.
The truck is equipped with upgraded suspension and chassis bits, new specialized 4×4 with locking diffs, and also will probably come with a monster 400hp+ V8. Rumor had it that it was suppose to debut a new “Boss” V8, but with current EPA standards the way they are keeping that big engine in the program might be a bit of a stretch.
In fact, this truck as a whole might not even make it to the streets in the future, though final prototype testing like this suggests otherwise. In a day and age where gas is reaching almost $5.00 a gallon, will this thing sell??? We’ll just have to wait and see.
