Audi’s R8 has been met with unanimous success and admiration. It’s now the valiant steed of lot’s of wealthy and famous people all over the world. Still, Audi thinks that things can get even more extravagant. So they chopped the top off, as one would say.
The R8 Targa is the result. An R8 with a removable targa top that can be stowed away in the rear of the vehicle. This gives R8 owners the feeling of open air driving, while still enjoying the stiff chassis and structural rigidity that the Audi halo car is known for. This was chosen over a conventional convertible version due to just those reasons.
Expect the car to share the same mechanicals as the coupe version. These include the beautiful 4.2-liter 420hp V8 engine. Expect a slightly higher base price than the coupe when this version of the R8 hits dealer showrooms at the end of next year.
