After months and months of waiting, I’ll be the first to say the wait was worth it. These pictures shown here are the pictures of the official production 2009 Chevrolet Camaro. As you can see, almost 99% of the show car made it to production and even the interior is something to behold.
The photo’s leaked on a UK website on Monday and have basically forced GM to reveal the goods a few days earlier than they planned. The facts so far are this: The Camaro will come in three trim levels, LT, LS, and of course SS. The car will come either with a 296hp 3.7-liter V6, or a 416hp 6.2-liter V8, and both engines will get a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed auto transmissions.
What really strikes as crazy is that the base Camaro makes as much power as a Mustang GT, and it’s a V6!! That’s gotta leave the boys in blue a little pissed. For now though, here are the pictures. As soon as more technical information becomes available we’ll post it here.
Above: With the Muscle Car Race in full steam mode, the new Camaro looks to be a contender….
