Volvo has recently released the pricing for it’s new R-Design line. The R-Design lineup is designed to help buyers customize their Volvos with cosmetic upgrades, but it often adds several thousand dollars’ worth of expense compared with the base model.
R-Design starts with the exterior. A satin matte-finish grille, color-coordinated bumpers and lower side moldings, rear or roof spoiler, satin matte-finish door mirror caps and five-spoke aluminum wheels make sure the R-Design versions stand out from their more pedestrian counterparts. Customers can also choose among 10 exclusive exterior colors and the package is finished off with sporty 17 and 18 inch wheels on C30, S40 and V50 R-Design models, while 19 inch and 20 inch wheels will be available on the XC90 R-Design.
On the interior, R-Design models include a leather-trimmed steering wheel with R-Design logo, an R-Design instrument cluster, aluminum sport pedals, an aluminum center stack and door inlays, gear selector with aluminum inlay and tufted dark sport floor mats with contrasting light leather seams.
Look for the new R-Design models to be in dealer showrooms by the time you read this. But also expect to pay a hefty premium to drive off in one of these exclusive new Volvo’s as the average price increase across the range is around $5,000 on top of the base price. Design is exclusive but expensive.
