While the official word is ” Pictures might not represent final production model”, the gist is that what you see is basically 99% production Camaro convertible. These pics were posted by Chevy VP Ed Peper on GM’s own FastLane blog site.
What we see is actually quite promising as the roof line of the convertible almost exactly mimics the coupe when the top is up. All convertible Camaro’s get the same 6.0-liter 400hp V8 and six speed manual transmissions as well as the coupes independent rear suspension setup.
Expect the convertible to debut almost a year after the hard-top. Prices have not yet been released, but I’m guessing a price increase of around $3-5,000 for the rag top version.
The long awaited Camaro is expected to be released in 2009 as a 2010 model. No official word on release dates and official specs have been given yet but expect the info to start flowing real soon.
