The F-series Ford truck has been the best-selling U.S. vehicle since 1992. Well, now that May’s sales are being reported, it seems the big truck has lost its title.
The Honda Civic took the top spot and sold more units than the Ford F-series. Ford Motor says this is the first month this has happened since December, 1992, reports USA Today. To bring insult to injury, the Toyota Camry, Corolla and Honda Accord also sold more than the Ford truck.

In the midst of the consumer switch to smaller, gas-friendly cars, Ford and GM recently announced major cuts that include plant closures and employee buyouts.
“It’s a watershed month, a sign of the times,” says Jim Farley, Ford group vice president. “It’s a significant development, but not surprising given the fuel prices.”
If you absolutely need a big pickup truck for your work or to haul things, chances are you will be able to negotiate a pretty fantastic deal on one of the many trucks that sit on your local dealers’ lots.
