Jaguar’s new XF is undeniably a hit. Though the styling was at first thought of as radical, it’s exactly what Jaguar needed to boost it’s image among those younger than 60. Designer Ian Cullum (of Aston Martin fame) really brought us a masterpiece and all it needs now is a bit more spice.
Well worry not Jaguar faithful. The company’s newest cat is the R version of the XF dubbed, you guessed it, XF-R. While past Jaguar cars have been fast, for a Jag at least, the newest one is fast period. That’s because it will be getting a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 rated above 500 horsepower. This puts the 2010 Jaguar XF-R in BMW M5 territory.
The famous Jaguar hood vents combine with a more aggressive front bumper and new mesh grille to distinguish the XF-R from the standard XF. Quad exhaust pipes also dress-up the XF-R’s rear end. Wheels of course, will be ginormous.
Expect the newest fast Jaguar to be in dealers sometime in 2009 as a 2010 model. It should carry a heavy premium over the standard sedan. Hey, it cost money to go fast!
