General Motors wants to know the future. All car companies do, but the General is going one step further. The company is conducting a major study to see if trucks are in their future.
The study will be conducted internally through the company. It will look at the market four years ahead and determine if GM really needs so many trucks in it’s model lineup. SUV production will also be considered as people are finally getting the picture that gas pricing is not going down anytime soon.
This is a perfect way to forecast were the market is going. General Motors has a storied history in trucks. Trucks are part of the company’s heritage. If GM is actually thinking of eliminating a big part of truck production it should be a big hint of things to come. GM can see the future, can you?
