This could prove to be a tough one for U.S. automakers. Truck sales are plummeting. With the ever higher gas prices these days it seem consumers aren’t looking as attractively at trucks and S.U.V’s anymore. In fact car sales are hitting an good mark and Ford’s Mazda brand has seen record numbers lately.
The trend seems to be rising too, which could mean the beginning of the end for the popularity of large gas-guzzling S.U.V’s and trucks. Though they will always be needed for comerceial applications, soccer mom doesn’t need a F-350 Super Duty.
As April proves to be a punishing month for automakers maybe it will be the wake up call for them to bring something new to the table. Loosing lot’s of money seems to be a good way to convince them.
